Sacramento Artist, Artisan's CODY LANE's work has a common thread running through the exhibit and that is materials. Wood, plexiglass, old signage, acrylic, steel, bombs, and kid art seem to be the favorites.

From the children's creative art center in Sacramento, Art Beast, he gathers stacks and stacks of art the kids create there and works it into his own art.

Lane used an actual shell of a bomb as a mold and created bomb shapes of layers and layers of kid art in a paper mache fashion. Another application was used to make large wall panels with the kid art, gave it a resin top/finish, and build a narrow table in it that folds out. He calls it the hall table!
Cody Lane has been creating functional art for the past 15 years, learning everything he knows from restoring wooden Chris Craft boats.
