Using found material, mostly steel—my work explores cultural stereotypes, social mores, time, space and form. The creation of my gender-based sculpture—expresses and explores my need to answer “what is woman?” and “who am I?”. They are female in nature, revealing the emotional gamut from reluctance to fear, joy and celebration. My geometric sculptures convey a masculine side of my nature. Infl uenced as a child by science fi ction, medieval armament and lost treasure, my work integrates the primitive with futuristic simplicity. All in all, my work continues to affi rm my continual need to self-evaluate, confront and scrutinize society.
